Buying an item on Ebay (For Collection)?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
I'm wanting to bid on an item that's pretty expensive on ebay. However, when I place a bid, does Paypal withdraw that money straight away from me, as the seller wants cash on collection but I have no other option but to bid using paypal. So how would this all work? Would the seller get double the money for the item or what? I am new to Ebay, so any advice/information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Ebay & Paypal does not allow cash transactions anymore. Ebay / Paypal has no way to track and prove cash transactions.

Money will only be deducted from your Paypal account when you decide to make the payment, if you win the auction.

Cash transactions are considered private transactions and not covered under Ebay/Paypal buyer protection.

The most important bit to remember is that when you pay with Paypal and collect in person you are not covered by Paypal protection. It means that Paypal assume that you make sure on collection that the item is in good working order and no future claims will be accepted thru Paypal

You will have to pay for it after the auction ends it doesn't take money out as you bid

You only pay after you win the item. Bidding will not trigger payment.
